New Home!!!

My brother Chris and I just bought one side of a duplex by the new Ymca. It's a 3br, 2bath, 2 car garage, about 14000-1500 sq ft, built in 2002. We're pretty excited to move in!! Our closing date is October 30th. Just in time for a Halloween party :))

Congrats to Kevin & Jaimie on the birth of their baby girl. Eliana Rose was born Wednesday night at 7:41pm. She weighs 8lbs 6oz. This makes me an uncle for the 9th time.

San Diego Hillcrest Tournament

What a weekend. I don't even know where to start. My flight was out of Chicago on Thursday afternoon, so I left home Wednesday. I stayed with my teammate Kevin because we were flying together. Wednesday night I attended the gay basketball league open gym in Chicago. It was great to see Paul, Mark and all those guys again. In the morning I got a call from Matt saying out 2 guys weren't going to make it because their grandpa was in the hospital and wasn't doing well. Matt was wondering if I could call Paul to see if he could make the trip on short notice. Matthew works for southwest airlines as a flight attendant, so he was able to get most of our team free flights. Paul was able to join our team. I loved getting to know all my teammates. The guys on our team where sooooooooooooooo hilarious. I can't even explain all the jokes because it was non stop. I also enjoyed playing with this team. They were a very talented group of guys. Saturday we beat the defending champions San Fran by 12, then we beat LA Metro by 40...haha. That game we just clicked. Nothing could go wrong. Matt had 28 points (7 3's), and I had over 15 assist that game. On Sunday we had our final pool play game. We beat Utah by 16 or so. We ended up getting the 1st seed in the championship bracket, and played the 4th seed Dallas in the semi's. They were a very good/ smart team. It was a close game, but we beat them by 12. In the championship we faced LA Dream. It was a good game, but we beat them by 8 points. I was very very happy with my play the whole tourney. I was getting a lot of compliments from my teammates and random people who came up to me. Funny story....After the championship game, I came back to my gym bag, and there was a note on top. It had a name and number on it. Nice thought, but I don't like the idea of calling a stranger that I've never seen or met before. After our victory we went to a friends house. They live in the hills of San Diego. It had to be a million dollar place overlooking all of San Diego, it was soo crazy.

The weather in San Diego was amazing. 75-80 and sunny each day!! The nightlife was pretty amazing too. I'll post a ton of pictures below and explain who's who and what's what. There was also a photographer at the gym. I'm hoping to get some of his pics after he post them. He took a bunch of me, so I'll work on that.

West Salem Basketball League

Our team went 3-0 again tonight. I'm not sure what our exact record is, but I know we have way more wins than losses (maybe 20-4?). Melisa came to watch us tonight and took a few pictures. I'll post those below. My teammates were complimenting me on how good and aggressive I've been playing. I think I had about 12 points with a bunch of nice assist tonight. But the important part is we got the win! There has been a huge change in my game, and I owe a lot of it to my new found strength :). I've been lifting weights and running at least a mile each day for the past month 1/2 at the YMCA. I've never been in better shape! Just in time for my gay basketball tournament in San Diego next weekend!!! :) We have a really really good squad. Not only are my teammates great basketball players, but they are sooo fun to hang out with. I think we have a great chance at winning it all. I'm also looking forward to seeing all the guys I met from the DC tourney (from San Fran, DC, LA, Chicago, Atlanta, New York, and Dallas). It's crazy to think I'll be in San Diego in exactly a week! This upcoming weekend I will be going to Chicago to meet up with some teammates. I'm sure I will post more about my upcoming trips...but for now...I'll just post the pictures and shut up.
